Malawian up-coming artist Stargic has threatened Henry Czar and his team to face legal action for stealing his idea on a recent song by Czar.
Stargic made a post on is Facebook page claiming that Czar has unintentionally borrowed ideas from his song “Ill Mind” without proper acknowledgment.
Ill mind which happens to be a song from Stargic, was released in 2020 through Mikozi network.
“I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to bring to your attention a matter that’s been on my mind since I came across your latest release, “Mzungu”. As a long-time fan of Henry’s music (we go way back to our days in Mchesi), I was excited to listen to the new song. However, I was shocked to notice some striking similarities between “Mzungu” and my own song, “Ill Mind”, reads the post.
Stargic continued saying that he is worried to what Czar has done to him despite being musicians from same neighborhood and for that, he can harm his reputation and even lead his career to legal issues.
Responding to the accusation, Czar’s management acknowledged the uniqueness of the concept but was quick to indicate that anyone can make a song about it.
“These kinds of concepts are universal; you can’t expect to be the only one who thought of doing a song about white people brainwashing Africans.”
The management added that Czar worked on ‘Mzungu’ from scratch.
“We are pretty sure the songs are different since the beats, melodies, and lyrics were made from scratch by Henry Czar”.
