The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) has launched its 6-year strategic plan in Lilongwe today, the event has attracted academics as well as public and private sector officials.

MUST Chancellor Professor Address Malata said that the plan which has been aligned with the Malawi 2063, aims at among other things, perfect some things like making its graduates to be change-makers, offer solutions to the country’s challenges and promote social transformation.

“MUST has become a top center of excellence so far, and the it intends to focus on umunthu-centric inventions and solutions that push the country forward.

National Planning Commission (NPC) Director General Thomas Munthali earlier said that the country needs collective responsibility, and asked government to provide technical support that should really propel meaningful development for the attainment of the Malawi 2063 development dream.

Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima requested the higher learning institutions to demonstrate their relevance to the nation by leading the process of generating solutions to the countries problems.

According to MUST, the strategic plan is aligned to the national 2063 strategic plan, and now aims at contribute to the implementation of the MIP 1.
