A 45-year-old man of Chambishi has died by su!c!de after his wife filed for div0rce due to the couple’s “irreconcilable differences”.
Mwape Mwenya d!ed by su!c!de on Monday around 16:00 hours after returning home from Chambishi Local Court.
Copperbelt police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba said Mwenya’s wife Mildred Mubanga, 44, had brought a divorce summons for her husband due to marital disputes between them.
Mr Mweemba said the couple had gone to the local court for their case on the fateful day which was adjourned to a later date.
He said Mwenya then proceeded home while his wife went to Zambia market, where she works as a tailor.
“When the wife knocked off around 18:00 hours, she went home and found that her husband had h@nged himself in the bedroom,” Mr Mweemba said.
