Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) has distanced itself from a statement by Member o Parliament for for Mzimba North Yeremiah Chihana that the party has endorsed Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Presidential candidate Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for the 2025 polls.
Yeremiah Chihana told Times Television before the DPP’s mega rally that AFORD his in full support of Mutharika’s candidature.
He went further to claim that AFORD is ready to join forces with the opposition DPP ahead of the polls.
In a statement released by party’s Publicity Secretary Annie Maluwa, party has quashed claims by Chihana.
Maluwa emphasized that Enoch Chihana will be their presidential candidate in 2025 and that remarks said by Chihana on Times TV are not the representation of AFORD executive committee.
