The Independent Schools Association of Malawi (Isama) has warned Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education candidates and teachers to avoid indulging in malpractices including cheating during this year’s examinations which start on Wednesday.

According to Isama president Wycliff Chimwendo has appealed to owners of private schools and parents and guardians to encourage learners to adhere to all examinations governing rules and regulations so that cheating does not occur.

In an interview, Chimwendo has also urged parents to avoid giving candidates hard chores at home to avoid accidents and also to prepare well for the examinations.

“If possible they should take their wards for medical examinations to avoid sudden sicknesses during examinations,” Chimwendo said.

He further said: “We appeal to all those administering examinations be it invigilation or supervision to do a good job. Schools should assist to embrace all good examination practices for good results.”
