36-Year-Old Man Dies in Chitipa Hit-and-Run; Police Investigate

Joseph Mulenga, 36, has died after being involved in a hit-and-run road accident at Ibanda area along Chitipa – Karonga road in Chitipa district.

Assistant police publicist for the district, Mathews Bright Mfune, said the incident occurred on Sunday at around midnight.

“Postmortem results from Chitipa hospital revealed that death was due to loss of blood secondary to severe head injuries and fractured legs,” said Mfune.

Meanwhile, the police have launched investigation to trace the driver of the motor vehicle, and once arrested, he will answer charges of causing death by reckless driving.
