Police in Chikwawa have arrested two two cattle thieves at Thabwa Police roadblock. The two were on their way to Blantyre with the two slaughtered cattle.

Upon arrival at Thabwa roadblock, the car was stopped and inspected by the officers who were on the checking point.

That was when they found the cur-cusses believed to have been stolen, packed in the car boot.

The officers then detained the car and arrested the two suspects. The owner of the cattle was later found and positively identified the slaughtered cattle.

The motor vehicle was taken to Chikwawa police station for further investigations.

The suspects have been identified as Peterson Jinja and Benesi Thipa. Jinja hails from Sadulo village, Traditional Authority Katunga in Chakwa whilst Thipa comes from Chipotole village, Traditional Authority Msamala in Balaka.

The suspects are in custody and will soon appear before court to answer charges of theft of cattle.
