The Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MoEST) have today started administering the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education examinations across the country.

A total of 262,216 are currently sitting for this year’s examination, according to MANEB statement made available to this publication.

The exams will run for three days.

Spot checks conducted at Zolozolo and St Peter’s examination centres have shown that there is tight security by Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and Malawi Police Service (MPS).

At Zolozolo Primary School, candidates were allowed entry into examination rooms 30 minutes before the starting time.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that the exams have started well and Minister of Education and his Deputy are currently moving from one centre to another.
