Women encouraged to join bodybuilding and weightlifting contest

Organizers of Mr Zomba Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Contest has called on female athletes to compete at this year’s competition.

The 11th edition of the competition is scheduled for October 26, at Naminyowe Villa in Zomba.

Organizer Bright Limani said they have introduced weightlifting and bodybuilding women category as part of promoting the sport amongst women.

“We need more women to take part of this year’s competition because many people think bodybuilding and weightlifting are for men only which is not true” he said.

Limani added they need K2.5 million to conduct this year’s competition urging well-wishers to come in and sponsor the annual event.
