Young Pastors Network (YPN) has asked Malawi Congress Party (MCP) delegates to reject the policy that hold back the new members from contesting at the party’s convention in August this year.
According to YPN President Pastor Webster Kameme told journalists in Lilongwe that intolerance and seemingly poor governance at party level is not good for a ruling party.
Meanwhile, spokesperson Ezekiel Peter Ching’oma said YPN needs to understand that as a political party they have their own internal mechanisms for ensuring stability, unity, and success of the party.
“By prioritizing the incumbents in different positions in the party, MCP seeks to reward and acknowledge the dedication and contributions of long-standing members who have worked tirelessly for the party’s ideals and objectives,” Ching’oma argued.
Some political commentators suspect some MCP gurus are targeting certain individuals for fear of losing their positions.
