Former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is scheduled to hold a public rally in Mzuzu ahead of the 2025 polls.

The development comes barely days after Mutharika held an audience with DPP Vice President for the North Jappie Mhango and Christopher Mzomera Ngwira, regional governor for the North.

“In the afternoon, I met with leaders of our party in the Northern region. Together, we discussed ways of strengthening our party in the region. I was also pleased to welcome new members into the party and those returning from other political sojourns.

“Mzuzu, I hope you are ready. I will be addressing you there soon. Details are coming.2025, ndikubweranso paja,” wrote Mutharika.

Recently Mutharika was at Njamba Freedom Park in Blantyre where he promised to turn around the country’s economy within 2 years once voted into power.

Mutharika is scheduled to contest as President at DPP elective conference slated for this coming July.
