The Mchinji First Grade Magistrate court has sentenced a 47-year-old man Zambian nation to 14 years in imprisonment for engaging in sexual intercourse with his two minor step-daughters.
State prosecutor, Inspector Neson Lengani said the suspect had been sleeping with two minors at night during the months of January to April 2024 in Chibwana Village, Sub Traditional Authority Ndawambe in Mchinji.
He also added that the mother learned of the ordeal when she observed some brand new underwear’s that the suspect had bought for the daughters.
But they latter disclosed that their father had bought them as gift not reveal what was going on.
Appearing in court, Phiri pleaded guilty to the charge but pleaded for leniency.
The suspect has been identified as Stuart Phiri and hails from Chilindira Village in Chief Chinunda in Chapata, Zambia.
