The United States of America (US) Government has donated K12 billion to Malawi Government to support malawians who were affected by El-nino.
USAID Malawi Mission Director, Pamela Fessenden told journalists in Blantyre today that the money will be handled by the World Food Program (WFP) and UNICEF to provide food assistance and cash transfers to 300,000 citizens and 54, 000 refugees and asylum seekers at Dzaleka refugee camp.
WFP and Department of Disaster Management Affairs are optimistic that the financial support will assist to mitigate the impact of El-Nino.
