Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) officials have been warned to avoid being influenced by partisan politics, to avoid undermining the credibility of forthcoming tripartite elections in 2025.
MEC commissioner Francis Kasalika warned the officials early today at the opening of workshop for southern region members of staff for the commission.
He also reminded the officers that their duty is to the nation and not to any political party, hence the need for them to refrain from malpractices why may affect the electoral process.
The workshop seeks to orient the MEC officials on the new legal framework and electoral reforms, voter registration and election administration.
