Malawi Congress Party (MCP) secretary general Eisenhower Mkaka says President Lazarus Chakwera will only serve his terms according to the laws of the country.
He said this in reference to what Member of Parliament for Mapuyu South Esther Cecilia Kathumba said earlier that she will move Parliament to amend the laws of the country to allow Chakwera to serve as life president.
However, Mkaka said the President respects the law and will not go beyond 2030.
He also moved to correct the assertions that the party will go solo during the next elections saying there are other parties that MCP is in alliance with and are eager to help Chakwera win the 2025 elections.
