Vivian Chisanu, a wife to late Veteran broadcaster Hope Chisanu has appealed to well-wishers to help the family with money amounting to MK43, 319,275. 00 to repatriate the body to Malawi.

Hope Chisanu, former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) employee died on Saturday in United States of America after a short illness.

according to the appeal message seen by this publication, the family is currently is in dare need of 25,000 United States dollars to repatriate Chisanu’s body.

“My name is Vivian Chisanu. I am the wife of the departed Hope Chisanu, who until his demise on the morning of 1st June, 2024 was my loving husband and father to two wonderful children.

“I write this to appeal to all well wishers to stand with me and my children, plus the greater family to help repatriate him home. Hope Chisanu passed on whilst in the United States of America after a short illness. With this situation, it has brought great distress and sadness upon pain and a great financial need,” reads in part the statement.

She added: “With all his family and relations here in Malawi, and due to the great financial strain on us in regards to the hospital bills and the cost of his repatriation, we are in dire need of financial assistance that he may be laid to rest home, in Malawi.

“We thank you all for your support during this difficult time to me, the children and the extended family plus all who knew, and at a time, worked with him.”

Meanwhile, the family has so far raised 220 United States dollars which is equivalent to MK381,209.62.
