Police in Zomba are keeping in custody a 46 year old Frederick Masiku and his 38 year old wife Fasileni Golosi in suspicion that they let their own child to die after they rejected to seek medical treatment at the hospital due to religious beliefs.

According to Zomba Police Spokesperson, Patricia Sipiliano, a five year old deceased was suffering from headache and the parents did not take her to hospital because they believe that only God can heal through prayers,

Later the parents organized their healing prayers inside their house and pray for her but unfortunately the deceased did not make it.

She added that, after the incident, the people surrounding reported the matter to the police

The suspects hails from Ramusi 2 village T/A Ramusi in zomba district.

The suspects will soon appear before court to answer charges levelled against them.
