Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) has entered into partnership with Astria Learning, an EdTech organization based in the United States of America.

Luanar’s Open Distance and Learning Coordinator Precious Gawanani said this collaboration will facilitate the delivery of 100% online undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the Astria learning platforms, creating a new Luanar e-campus.

He also said that currently, Luanar accommodates over 15,000 students across its various campuses. The introduction of the e-campus is anticipated to significantly increase this number, especially by attracting students from regional and international backgrounds who might have faced challenges in accessing higher education due to location constraints.

Gawanani was saying this during the partnership signing ceremony in Lilongwe.

Chief executive officer for Astria Learning Jeff Bordes said the advanced e-learning platform will empower Luanar students with the knowledge and skills needed to innovate and improve agricultural practices.
