UTM secretary general Patricia Kaliati has said the party is concerned on the time and intensity of the search that the plane went missing around 10 am but there has been slow movement by government.

Kaliati was speaking this during the press briefing by UTM official at the party’s offices Area 10 in Lilongwe.

She wonders why the dissatisfaction with the delayed start of the search for the plane.

“The party has not received any updates from the government and is relying on information from the media” said Kaliati.

Kaliati has further asked for further assistance from well-wishers and other countries to come together to help to search for the plane.

She disclosed that some well-wishers have also helped the party with a helicopter and the party itself has extended the search to other areas.

UTM spokesperson Felix Njawala on his part said that the party has extended the search of the missing plane carrying Vice- President and others to districts such as Kasungu and Mchinji.

He also indicated that the party has managed to be assisted with a helicopter and drones.

“We have also found experts who will also help us on finding the missing plane” said Njawala.

Njawala has urged government to add more people on the team finding the missing plane.

The plane that was carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima and others went missing around 10 am on 10 June 2024.
