The body of Burial of former first lady Patricia Shanil Dzimbiri will take place on Friday in her home district, Balaka.
This has been disclosed by Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu.
According to family member Ben Mankhamba, her body will be buried at her home village- Chimpikizo, Traditional authority Cham’thunya in Balaka district.
Dzimbiri died in a plane crash in northern Malawi, alongside vice president Saulos Klaus Chilima and seven others.
Born Patricia Fukulani on 25 September, 1964, she had five children with former president, Bakili Muluzi.
A teacher by profession, the former first lady also served as Member of Parliament for Balaka west constituency, from 2014 to 2019. She did not make it for a second term, and Chilima took her on board as his adviser on women affairs, until her death.
