The Public Affairs Committee (PAC) has urged the nation to mourn the death of Vice President of Malawi and 8 others peacefully and in solidarity, because it is very important to keep and maintain peace in this time of tragic incident.

According to the statement released today, PAC calls on all Malawians to honor the memory of the late Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight others by upholding peace and unity and refraining from speculative or divisive actions.

Meanwhile, PAC has expressed shock at the untimely deaths of the late Vice President and eight others in a devastating plane crash on Monday.

PAC conveyed its deepest sympathies to the government, the people of Malawi, and the bereaved families, emphasizing the need for unity and resilience during this difficult time.

“A tragic accident has taken away a dynamic leader, the Vice President, and his loss will be deeply mourned by those who interacted with him. Nonetheless, his leadership style and his accomplishments will remain a lasting legacy for all Malawians,” reads the statement
