People have gathered at Mangunda Headquarters in Thyolo for the funeral of the late Major Flora Selemani Ngwilinji.

District Commissioner for Thyolo, Hudson Kuphanga, expressed that the district has lost a role model who inspired girls to achieve their dreams.

Traditional Authority Nanseta mentioned losing a daughter who significantly contributed to the area’s development.

He remarked, “Today is the saddest day of my life.” Nanseta added that he had seen her grow up and achieve her dream of becoming a pilot, as her house was very close to his.

Major Selemani died on Monday together with vice President Saulos Chilima and 7 others in plane crash that happened at Chikangawa forest.;
