Three people have died and one is critically injured after a motorcycle they rode collided with a Hino lorry last night at Phazi junction along the Nkhamenya-Jenda M1 road in Kasungu.
Deputy spokesperson for Kasungu Police, Miracle Hauli has confirmed the accident and identified the deceased as Harry Saka, 22, and two pillion passengers, Timothy Nkhata,45 and Vitumbiko Nkhata 27.
According to Hauli, the motorcycle collided with the vehicle registration number MH 10159 Hino Lorry which was joining the M1 from Khosolo area.
“Due to the impact, the rider Harry Saka,Timothy Nkhata and Vitumbiko Nkhata sustained severe head injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at Jenda health center,” she said.
Timothy Nkhata hailed from Peter village,Vitumbiko Nkhata and Harry Saka hailed from Chimenya village both from Sub Traditional Authority Chisikwa in Kasungu District.
