Last night, United Transformation Movement (UTM) held a press briefing at Nsipe in Ntcheu were it urged its followers and the general public to remain calm ahead of the burial ceremony of its leader Saulos Chilima.

The party’s spokesperson Felix Njawala and General Secretary Patricia Kaliati made the call following news that there was acts of violence that erupted at Ntcheu Boma when some people pelted stones at a motorcade that carried Chilima’s remains yesterday.

There were reports that some people even lost there lives.

Late Chilima will be laid to rest today at his home village, Nsipe in Ntcheu. The sadevent will be led by President Lazarus Chakwera who is expected to arrive soon.
