The High Court in Mzuzu will tomorrow on 19th June  2024 ,expected to deliver its ruling on whether 6 people suspected in a murder case of about 30 Ethiopian nationals have a case to answer or not.

The ruling will come following the bodies of the 30 Ethiopian nationals who were found buried in a mass grave inside Mtangatanga forest in Mzimba district in October, 2022.

After the investigations conducted by Malawi Police Service and Immigration department, 6 people were arrested in connection to the murder and state opened a case aggravated manslaughter and human trafficking against the suspects.

However, when the suspects appeared before court to answer the charges leveled against them they pleaded not guilty prompting the state to parade witnesses in a quest to prove the case

According to the Court document, indicates that earlier this year the court adjourned the case for both the state and the defense to provide to the court written submission and the case returns for the court to make a ruling on whether the accused have a case to answer or not.

The six suspects are Tadikira Mafubza step son to former president Peter Mutharika, Samuel Navaya, Duncan Kalulu, David Luhanga, Thomas Kazembe and Boniface Nguluwe.
