The Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA Malawi) has commended the media fraternity for showing professionalism in covering and reporting tragic pass on of vice president Dr. Saulos Chilima and eight others.
In a press statement signed by MISA Malawi’s chairperson Golden Matonga, the board has congratulated its membership for professionally and successfully providing up-to-date and accurate information during the funeral ceremonies.
Conquering on the same issues, Minister of Information and Digitalization Moses Kunkuyu, has also hailed the mainstream of media for reporting facts only in past 8 days when the country engulfed with dark cloud.
Kunkuyu, made the remarks yesterday on 18 June 2024 during the press briefing held at the Office of the President and Cabinet in Lilongwe.
This comes after being noted that there some crooks on social media who are reporting wrong stories related to the pass on of Dr Chilima and eight others.
These people, are busy sharing and circulating fake stories that are likely to cause grievous harm to nation.
