Government spokesperson Moses Kunkuyu has announced that experts from Germany will arrive in the country today to investigate the plane crash that claimed the lives of Vice President Saulos Chilima and eight others.
Kunkuyu stated that President Lazarus Chakwera has instructed that the experts be given complete freedom in conducting their investigation.
Additionally, Kunkuyu revealed that this year’s Independence Day celebrations have been cancelled as a sign of mourning for Vice President Chilima and the other victims.
President Chakwera ordered an investigation into the circumstances and causes of the plane crash that killed Vice President Chilima just days after the tragedy.
“The Malawi Defense Force is launching an investigation into the causes of the crash today,” he said.
Currently, Malawians are eagerly waiting to hear the findings of the investigation once it is completed.
