The Salima Sugar Company has confirmed that, it has delivered over 90 tonnes of Maize to National food Reserve Agency (NFRA) in Lilongwe in efforts to ensure that the country is food secure.
According to Executive Chairperson for Salima Sugar Company Wester Kosamu, the problem of food shortage in the country has been the current situation and that has made us to answer the call of the government on the importance of producing more maize through mega farms to ensure and promote food security in the country
He further said the maize was produced on a 100 hectare piece of land and the plan is to produce more as there is more land that is staying idle.
