Nchalo police in Chikwawa are keeping two men in custody over the alleged possession of a live pangolin.
The suspects have been identified as Enasiyo Yembekeza, 66, from Kutama village, and Patrick Jimu, 44, of Mponya village, both under Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa.
Chikwawa police publicist Sergeant Dickson Matemba says Nchalo police detectives worked on a tip-off, and the two suspects were offering for sale the pangolin at Jombo Trading Centre.
According to Matemba, the law enforcers rushed to the place in question and found the live pangolin, which was hidden in a laptop bag.
