The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has postponed the blue love fundraising luncheon which was scheduled to be held this coming Saturday at PAGE house in the eastern district of Mangochi.
According to a statement made available to this publication, the postponement follows the 21 days of mourning period declared by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera following the death of the country’s former Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others in a plane crash.
In the statement, the party says new date for the event will be announced shortly.
The opposition DPP organized the fundraising with an aim to raise money for the party’s elective conference set for this year.
Former President Peter Mutharika was scheduled to be the guest of honor at the event.
