The Private Schools Association of Malawi has commended the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) for speeding up the disbursing Centre fees to secondary schools ahead of the MSCE exams next month.

The development has come after PRISAM complained of the delay last week that it had put most private schools in a fix considering that public schools are provided with mobile laboratories while private schools rely on the same money

In an interview with PRISAM President Enerst Kaonga said MANEB has disbursed the Centre fees which are key in the management of practical examinations

“We can now confirm that Private Schools have received the money which will be used to procure materials for practical subjects,” said Kaonga.

Kaonga added that he has since urged the private schools to work quickly to buy materials on time since they are not allowed to do so when the examination are in progress

Centre fees are paid to secondary schools for the purpose of examination administration including procuring exam materials.
