Councilor Kondwani Brian Nyasulu for Msongwe Ward has been re-elected as Mayor of Mzuzu city council.
Nyasulu takes the seat from Luwinga Ward councilor Gift Desire Nyirenda after he got 9 votes against Nyirenda who got 7 votes.
The third candidate on the position, councilor Edward Simwaka of Chibavi East Ward pulled out from the race at the Eleventh hour, citing family matters
Nyasulu served as a Mayor from 2019 to 2022
