Government has approved the increment of the allowances for healthcare workers.
The development has come following the Sit-in which was conducted by healthcare workers demanding the government to increase their allowances
According to communication from Secretary for Human Resource Management and Development dated June 24 2024, the adjustments are effective July 1 2024.
“Please note that the terms and conditions for the eligibility of the top up allowances remain as communicated to you in my letter dated July 4 2017,” reads the letter.
However, from Grade C and D will be getting k526, 500 per month while workers with the lowest Grade will be getting k50, 000.
As for professional allowances, those between grades D and I will get the highest pay of K11, 500 with the lowest on grade L receiving K4, 000per month.
