Leadership with Compassion Party (LCP) Shadow Councillor Lucious Kasonya has finally presented nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) ahead of the by-elections in Chilaweni Ward.
MEC is scheduled to hold by-elections on July 23, 2024 in Chilaweni and Mwansa wards respectively.
Kasonya is scheduled to face Independent Candidate Maxwello Chipiliro Phiri and 8 other candidates from Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Democratic Progressive party (DPP), UTM and UDF.
Speaking after presenting the nomination papers Kasonya said he is ready to develop Chilaweni ward once elected.
He said the ward lucking many development activities such as safe water, good roads and others.
Kasonya also hailed LCP President Dr. Sally Kumwenda for the support rendered to him.
