A 49-year-old Zambia Police Officer, Assistant Superintendent Daniel Kangelesa, has been charged with attempted ràp£ and is set to stand trial in the Nakonde Magistrate Court.
Mr Kangelesa allegedly attempted to ràp£ an 18-year-old girl from Nakonde on June 8, 2024.
He denied the allegations when he appeared before Nakonde Magistrate Cynthia Musaba on June 12, 2024.
Trial is scheduled to commence today, and the prosecution is expected to present its case against the police officer.
