Reverend Kondwani Chimbirima Gondwe of the Livingstonia Synod of the CCAP church who was arrested few days ago on cyber security related charges has been released on bail by the Principal Resident Magistrate court in Lilongwe this afternoon.
Principal Resident Magistrate Rodrick Michongwe said the court has granted bail to Reverend Chimbirima Gondwe because the police have failed to provide evidence that the suspect will interfere with witnesses when released among other grounds.
Reverend Chimbirima Gondwe is suspected to have recorded an audio allegedly saying President Lazarus Chakwera lied to Malawians about the plane crash which killed former Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others and shared it on media platforms which is against the law.
