Police in Mulanje have arrested 38-year-old pastor Steven Zambia on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl and impregnating her.
According to the spokesperson of the police in the district, Innocent Moses, Pastor Zambia has been arrested yesterday on June 26 this year and said that he committed the crime between February and June this year in the village of Mukhwera, chief of Mabuka in Mulanje district.
According to Moses, the pastor offered himself to pray for the girl who was suffering from epilepsy and instead he touched her several times until she got pregnant.
Moses said that when the matter came to light, he told the girl’s parents to marry her and they refused and took the matter to the Mulanje police.
Pastor Steven Zambia who hails from Makaula village, Traditional Authority Mabuka in Mulanje district will soon appear in court to answer the charges.
