The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has penned Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara demanding the immediate removal of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson Mark Botomani.
The party also want the speaker to remove Botomani as member of the committee.
Parliament spokesperson Ian Mwenye has confirmed receiving a letter from the opposition DPP on the matter.
Mwenye said the Speaker is engaging with relevant stakeholders on the matter before coming up with a ruling on the matter.
Botomani, Member of Parliament for Zomba Chisi was fired from the opposition DPP together with Kondwani Nankhumwa and others on grounds that they attended a National Governing Council (NGC) meeting which was sanctioned by the then DPP Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey.
The MP is currently sitting on an Independent MPs side in Parliament.
