ENGLAND – Linda De Sousa Abreu, a 30-year-old female prison officer, appeared in court after being caught on video having sex with an inmate at Wandsworth prison.
She was arrested at Heathrow Airport while attempting to fly to Madrid and is now facing charges.
The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after the video went viral online, with the alleged incident occurring between June 26 and 28.
In court, De Sousa Abreu was granted conditional bail and must remain at her southwest London address, surrender her Portuguese passport, and be electronically monitored.
She is also forbidden from applying for or possessing international travel documents and must hand over her Portuguese identity card.
A Prison Service spokesman stated that staff corruption is not tolerated and that the investigation is ongoing.
