President for Peoples Development Party (PDP) Kondwani Nankhumwa on Monday evening attended a candlelight memorial service held at Mulanje Park Stadium in the district.
The United Transformation Movement (UTM) organized the candlelight memorial in honor of the party’s President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima who died in a plane crash together with eight others last month.
The candlelight memorial was presided over by UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati and other UTM top officials.
Speaking to the crowd that gathered at Mulanje Park Stadium Nankhumwa said Chilima’s death should not act as setback for youths who intended to join frontline politics.
He said Chilima’s death should give the youths hope for a better Malawi ahead.
