A 23 year old shopkeeper identified as Jeffrey Misoya has taken his own life by hanging himself after registering a shortage of Mk200, 000 in sales.
Lingazi Police spokesperson Cassim Manda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Manda, the deceased was employed as a shopkeeper in area 47 and has been working for four year now.
The owner of the shop discovered the shortage on Sunday this week and agreed to have a meeting in the evening but the deceased failed to honor the request.
The deceased appeared at the house around 9pm while drunk and in the morning the Misoya was found hanging in the house with a suicide note beside him.
Misoya hailed from Nkhanamba Village, Traditional Authority Nsabwe in Thyolo District.
