Former President Dr. Joyce Banda on Wednesday attended the funeral ceremony of Tinasha Mtawali who shot himself to death over what can be described as lover affair disagreement.
Mtawali, son to Ephraim Chivinde,Chief Advisor to the president on Special Duties, shot himself to death on Sunday at Chitipi Area in the Capital City.
Mtawali (deceased), left home for unknown destination where he later called his girlfriend on the telephone, telling her that she will never see him again.
In the course of their conversation, the girlfriend heard sound of a gun shooting, and Mtawali stopped responding on his cellphone.
This is when the girlfriend made every effort to relay the same to the deceased’ relations.
Banda was accompanied by Justice Richard Banda SC retired.
Brown Mpinganjira and some well-known government top official including Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo attended the funeral ceremony.
