A suspected thief has been beaten to death at Gooke Village, Traditional Authority Mlolo in Nsanje District.
Nsanje Police spokesperson Agnes Zalakoma has confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Stanford Andrea.
According to Zalakoma, the deceased on May 8 2024 broke into the house of Doreen Chisatha, a primary school teacher where he stole Mk45,000, two cell-phones and clothes.
The suspect the escaped to Blantyre and he re-appeared yesterday around 7pm in the area.
The victim mobilized villagers who apprehended the suspect and started beating him mercilessly.
Chisatha also notified the law enforcers of the matter who rushed to the scene and found the suspect dead.
No suspect has been arrested over the matter.
