A man is in police custody in Lilongwe for allegedly stealing money amounting to MK3 million from FCB bank where her lover is working.
Lingazi Police Spokesperson Cassim Manda has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the suspect as Maxwell Kafumbata.
It is said that the suspect who once worked with the bank was in a relationship with a teller at the bank and he bought her a phone and gave her money amounting to Mk800,000.00.
But the relationship was not all that okay, forcing the man to invade the work place of the lady demanding refund of his money.
The suspected sneaked into the bank and a commotion erupted and he managed to collect money amounting to MK3 million from the bank coffers and escaped.
The matter was reported to police resulting to his arrest.
Meanwhile, the law enforcers have managed to recover money amounting to MK2.9 million.
