The government says the money that will be spent on the celebration of the country’s 60th anniversary of independence will be known after the event.
This has bees said by Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu as this year’s ceremony is expected to take place tomorrow at the BICC in Lilongwe.
Kunkuyu has said that it is the same as the plans that were originally planned for the event have changed.
For example, the minister said that this year there will be no entertainment such as football matches and entertainment.
They said that instead, they should be prayers in order to pay respect to the former vice president of this country, Saulos Chilima and eight other people who died in the plane crash.
The Kunkuyu said that the leader of this country, Lazarus Chakwera, is the one who will lead the event.
