A 17-year-old girl has been swept away in the Shire River.
According to Neno police spokesperson Constable Rebecca Msoliza, the girl, Julita Davie, is a Form 2 student at a school in Zalewa.
Msoliza reported that last Monday, Julita went to the river with her friends to do laundry.
While they were washing clothes, Julita was swept away by the current.
The search operation for Julita is currently ongoing.
Julita is from Zalewa village under Senior Chief Symon in Neno.
