Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza has adjourned the bribery case against Lin Yuan Hua, a Chinese national, to July 26.
The case, initially set for Wednesday, was delayed because the defendant’s lawyers were not present in court.
Lin Yuan Hua, who is currently serving a sentence for wildlife trafficking as part of criminal case number 797 of 2019, is accused of attempting to offer K80 million in bribes to High Court Judge Violet Chipao and prison officials back in 2019.
Lin Yuan Hua is already serving 14 years Imprisonment with Hard Labour (IHL).
