Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has appealed to party supporters to patronize the blue luncheon fundraising scheduled for this coming Saturday at PAGE house in Mangochi.
The opposition DPP has organized the fundraising with an aim of raising money for the forthcoming elective conference set for August this year.
Writing on his official facebook page Mutharika urged supporters to come out in large numbers.
“Join us at the Page House in Mangochi this Saturday as we open doors to supporters of the mighty Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and all well-wishers to a fundraising luncheon.
“Attend this momentous occasion where, once again, we continue with our strides towards the 2025 election by strengthening the structures of our beloved party through a democratic party convention. Bring your family, and friends, to contribute to the journey that is the making Malawi better again.See you this Saturday,” said Mutharika.
Initially, the blue luncheon fundraising was scheduled to take place on June 29, 2024 but it was postponed following the President declaration of 21 days of mourning after the death of State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others in a plane crash.
