Information reaching this publication indicates that some youths from the United Transformation Movement (UTM) are protesting against a continuation of the alliance by the party with the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
The protest comes as UTM top officials led by the party’s Secretary General Patricia Kaliati are scheduled to hold a meeting in the capital Lilongwe to decide the future of the alliance.
According to photos and information sent to this publication, the youths want the top officials to end the marriage.
The youths suspect foul play on the death of the country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima and 8 others on June 10, 2024 in Nthungwa Forest.
