A body of an unidentified woman, believed to be of either European or Asian origin, was found along the Mudi River at Ginnery Corner in Blantyre on Wednesday.

According to Joseph Sauka, spokesperson for the South West region police, the woman is suspected to have been murdered, and investigations have begun.

Sauka described the deceased as appearing to be around 30 years old, with distinctive tattoos: a snake, a bird, and the word “Malawi” on her right lower leg, and a winged naked woman on her left lower leg.

On the day she was found, she was wearing a pair of soft jean trousers labelled DIOR.

The body is currently being kept at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital
